Our curriculum builds from class theory to basic
animal care. This will provide students with a solid
foundation of proper animal care prior to working
with our pet clientele. Next, students are given
hands on instruction on bathing and brushing techniques.
Once these techniques are mastered, students are
taught to professionally style dog breeds and cats
with instruction given by the instructor. Our hands
on teaching methods simulate actual working conditions.
|
Our
grooming techniques will give students the confidence
and knowledge to work in a professional environment.
The Academy offers a two course program- Professional
Groomer and Groomer's Assistant Programs. Each graduate
who has demonstrated proficiency and met the State
requirements will be awarded a Diploma or Certificate
of Achievement. While the emphasis in these programs
is on dogs, there is time spent on cat grooming.
In addition to our set curriculum, the Academy offers
a series of advanced workshops throughout the year.
Seminars will be held on Blade and Clipper Maintenance,
Shampoo and Conditioners, Nutrition, and Animal Behavior.
A course in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for animals
is given during the course. At completion, you will
be certified by a licensed veterinarian. (C.P.R.)
Placement is not available
on CPR course.
